Country Roads CrossFit Teams up with National Apprentice Day

On November 7th, Bimbo Coles and Laura Lee hosted an apprentice day at their gym in Lewisburg, West Virginia, Country Road’s CrossFit. They showed their apprentice, Brody, what it’s like to run a CrossFit gym and how to coach a CrossFit class.

Before his apprentice day, Brody was not exposed to a CrossFit gym. He was introduced to general tasks around the gym, the WOD (workout of the day), equipment, weights, safety precautions, how to use the floor cleaner, and music selection for different classes.

Brody helped coach the after-school youth CrossFit class with Laura. He did an excellent job encouraging the youth. One of the youth CrossFitters made the remark, “Laura should hire this kid!”

The day was very encouraging for Brody and he was excited for the opportunity to learn from Laura and Bimbo, who is a former Olympian. Coles was a member of the United States 1988 Olympic basketball team. He also played for the Miami Heat.  He received his nickname from a cousin in reference to a country music song.
