New CrossFit gym opening in Lewisburg

If you’re looking to get in shape for the new year, a new gym is opening its doors.

Classes start Monday morning at 5 a.m. for Country Roads CrossFit.

The gym has made a home at what was The Spring restaurant in Lewisburg, on Rt. 219 by the intersection of Rt. 60.

The building is owned by the Greenbrier Valley Restoration Group, and the goal is to make the area into a big community and wellness center.

Prices are $75-dollars for adults, $50 for students, military and police.

There are family discounts and a Wood McCue scholarship fund to provide free memberships to high school and middle school athletes.

A few months ago, you may remember us reporting that the CrossFit and other activities were going to be at the old Bolling High School in Lewisburg.

That was after the owner of Country Roads Crossfit, former NBA star, Bimbo Coles, had partnered up with the non-profit trying to turn it into a teen community center.

Coles says it’s going to take more time than anticipated to get the school up and running.

They are waiting on a report from the fire marshal and there are zoning issues.  So he moved the gym over to The Spring.

But Coles says he hopes the two organizations work with each other on future community endeavors.

Coles is not sure when the teen community center would be able to open.
